Middle School CTE Teacher
Position Summary
The Middle School Teacher is responsible for delivering effective instruction, supporting student growth, and upholding school and district policies. The teacher is expected to comply with all Board policies, directives from supervisors, and the professional standards outlined in the North Carolina Educator Evaluation System.
Reports To: Building Principal
Employment Status: Full-Time, Certified, 10-Month Position
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction using hands‑on, project‑based, and standards‑aligned learning experiences.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that address diverse learning needs and support student growth.
- Assess student performance using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and classroom activities.
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
- Integrate employability skills, career exploration, and industry‑relevant practices into classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, families, business partners, and community stakeholders to enhance student learning opportunities.
- Manage instructional materials, equipment, supplies, and inventory in accordance with district procedures.
- Participate in school/district meetings, professional learning communities, training sessions, and ongoing professional development as needed or required.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses, industries, and community organizations to strengthen career awareness and work‑based learning opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders regarding academic progress, expectations, and student achievement.
- Model professionalism, ethical conduct, and lifelong learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district leadership.
