The purpose of this role is to serve as the primary liaison between Production Scheduling, Supply Planning, Logistics, and Customer Service to ensure accurate, timely, and validated order status information is available for customer communications. This position proactively collaborates with plant teams to identify potential fulfillment risks, verify production and delivery commitments, obtain status updates, and resolve open issues before they impact customers.
While the role does not own production planning, scheduling, logistics decisions, inventory allocation, or direct customer communication, it plays a critical coordination role by facilitating communication across teams, validating information, and ensuring Customer Service has the reliable updates needed to provide clear and accurate information to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary coordination point between Customer Service and plant teams for order fulfillment issues.
- Partner with schedulers, planners, production teams, and logistics personnel to obtain timely updates on critical, late, and at-risk orders.
- Challenge and validate production schedules, shipment dates, inventory availability, and transportation plans to ensure commitments are realistic.
- Facilitate daily reviews of service risks, backorders, delayed shipments, and critical customer requirements.
- Maintain visibility of open issues and drive timely follow-up with plant and logistics teams until updates are obtained.
- Escalate significant service risks and unresolved issues to supply chain leadership.
- Ensure Customer Service receives proactive, fact-based updates to support timely customer communications.
- Generate and interpret SAP and Power BI reports to monitor order status, service performance, shortages, and fulfillment risks.
- Identify emerging service risks and bring visibility to issues requiring attention.
- Track commitments, actions, and status changes to ensure accurate and timely communication across teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3–5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Scheduling, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Customer Service.
- Comfortable navigating SAP to review order, inventory, shipment, and production-related information.
- Comfortable using Power BI reports to monitor service performance, identify exceptions, and support decision-making.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence and coordinate across functions without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
