Job Summary

Richards Corporation specializes in sitework. The Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of general construction and sitework duties to support the successful completion of projects. Laborers work as part of a construction crew and assist with daily jobsite activities while following company safety procedures, project specifications, and direction from the Foreman or Superintendent.

The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, safety-conscious, willing to learn, and able to work effectively as part of a team in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with general sitework and construction activities as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Perform manual labor including digging, shoveling, raking, grading, loading, unloading, and moving materials.
  • Assist with installation of drainage systems, utilities, structures, curbing, sidewalks, and other sitework.
  • Assist equipment operators with excavation, grading, trenching, and material placement activities.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and assist with daily site cleanup.
  • Load, unload, move, and properly store tools, equipment, and construction materials.
  • Assist with traffic control and maintain awareness of vehicles, equipment, and other hazards around the jobsite.
  • Use hand tools and basic construction equipment safely and properly.
  • Follow instructions from the Foreman, Superintendent, and other authorized supervisors.
  • Follow all company, OSHA, project, and customer safety requirements.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain it in good condition.
  • Attend required safety meetings, training, and toolbox talks.
  • Assist other crew members as needed to maintain productivity and meet project schedules.
  • Protect company property, equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous construction or sitework experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with others as part of a construction crew.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active construction operations.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • OSHA or other construction-related training is a plus.

Compensation: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour
