Position Overview
Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA, seeks an experienced and imaginative individual to fill the position of Educational Tour and Workshop Manager, responsible for the promotion, implementation, and daily management of the Northeast Regional Tour and Workshops in the Education Department. This is a year-round position beginning on or about August 15, 2026, with compensation of $769.23 to $961.54 per week ($40,000 to $50,000 annually) and local housing during relocation available.
Responsibilities- Schedule the Tour, including auditions, rehearsals, performances, and travel; schedule Workshops.
- Collaborate to produce promotional materials and content for Tour and Workshops.
- Pursue and contract performance opportunities for the Tour and opportunities for Workshops and potential Workshop participants.
- Cultivate Workshop sessions in costuming and production; hire all Tour and Workshops artistic staff.
- Manage Tour Booking contracts, payments, weekly schedules, and correspondence and enrollment for all Workshops.
- Serve as primary technical and logistical contact with Tour schools/venues; assure readiness of performance spaces for Tour presentations.
- Coordinate vehicle needs, scheduling, and day-of-performance details for the actors; facilitate travel and accommodations, per diem, and other travel expenses.
- Coordinate maintenance of Tour operations with others as issues arise; track payments and expenses for the Finance department.
- Manage all in-house performances of the Tour, including student seating, ticketing, and other logistics.
- Manage all workshops in person, keep the schedule, coordinate communication with participants, and coordinate space use.
- Coordinate and collaborate on revision, publication, and distribution of Tour Study Guides, Training manuals, Workshop materials for participants, and other printed materials.
- Attend and participate in bi-weekly company Operations Meetings; provide additional support across other Education programming.
- Experience in Theater/Performing Arts management or a related undergraduate degree.
- Prior experience with Touring productions and/or Educational Theatre programs.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced, high-transaction performing or other arts environment.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative leadership skills with openness to many perspectives.
- Experience organizing and communicating effectively with groups from diverse backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experiences.
- Strong detail orientation, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong written and conversational communication skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Social Media.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Experience with Shakespeare & Company’s Education Programming preferred.
- Budget management experience preferred.
- Completion of a COVID-19 vaccine regimen and booster, if eligible, prior to employment term.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Offense Record Information check (CORI).
This year-round, full-time exempt position includes $769.23 to $961.54 per week ($40,000 to $50,000 annually), plus a full benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Temporary local housing is available as part of a relocation package.
