SALARY: $19.50/hour, commensurate with experience

Position Summary

The Seasonal Development Events Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Shakespeare & Company’s development efforts during the vibrant summer season. This position focuses on managing the entire lifecycle of key fundraising events, including donor receptions, community events, and our annual Gala. Donor stewardship is also a key component, including greeting and supporting donors on campus during events and performances and handling concierge ticket services and other benefits.

Ideal candidates are passionate about the arts, detail-oriented, and energetic, with a strong commitment to creating meaningful and memorable experiences for donors that contribute to the success of Shakespeare & Company’s mission.

  • Assist with the planning, organization, execution, debriefing, and donor follow-up for summer fundraising events, including donor receptions, benefit performances, the annual Gala, and other special gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to ensure all events reflect Shakespeare & Company’s mission and align with its messaging.
  • Manage event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, vendor coordination, event budgets, and on-site support to ensure seamless execution.
  • Provide exceptional stewardship to donors, fostering a welcoming and memorable experience rseeing our donor benefits stewardship program.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support event schedules.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, & Characteristics Sought
  • Passion for Shakespeare & Company’s mission and the performing arts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with fundraising databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, or similar) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events.
  • Prior experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development is a plus.
  • Experience in fast-paced nonprofit organization a plus.
  • Experience with ticketing systems (Audience View/Ovation Tix or similar) a plus.
  • Completion of a COVID-19 vaccine regimen and booster, if eligible, prior to employment term.

This hourly, 40-hour/week, non-Exempt, at-will employee will receive $19.50/hour, commensurate with experience.
