Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a growing services organization. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who can keep vendor payments accurate, timely, and well documented. The person in this role will contribute to day-to-day payables operations while helping maintain strong financial controls and efficient workflow across the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately within accounting and ERP systems while ensuring proper approval and documentation.
• Coordinate recurring payment cycles, including check runs and ACH transactions, to ensure obligations are paid on schedule.
• Reconcile accounts payable records and investigate discrepancies with vendors, internal departments, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized payables files, audit trails, and transaction histories to support compliance and reporting needs.
• Assist with accrual-related activities and other accounting tasks that help ensure complete and accurate period-end records.
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to special projects within the accounting department as needed.
• Work within accounting software platforms, including ADP-related financial systems, to manage payables activity efficiently.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice coding questions and improve the flow of financial information.
