JOB GOAL:
To assess and provide a well-designed educational plan and instruction for students with disabilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide direct service to students with disabilities, consult with other staff on student and educational issues, work in inclusion and resource classrooms

* Knowledgeable about accommodations and modifications.

* Knowledge regarding MCAS Accommodations and Alt. MCAS Development

* Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process by attending IEP meetings, work collaboratively with IEP team members, complete and prepare IEP paperwork, and deliver instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP.

* Complete Progress Reports.

* Develop individualized lesson plans that meet criteria for specially designed instruction

* Plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities

* Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and to gather data for the development of the IEP

* Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, and in congruency with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects

* Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques in order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment

* Collaborate with Relate Service professionals.

* Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel

* Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe

* Be able to support a remote learning environment.

* Supervise support staff (paraprofessionals/tutors)
