position overview: we are seeking a dedicated and passionate 5th grade teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, fostering positive relationships with students, and effectively managing the classroom. The teacher will deliver a comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on math and english language arts (ela).

instruction and curriculum delivery

• develop and implement lesson plans that meet state and national standards.
• teach math and ela curriculum, ensureing all students grasp essential concepts and skills.
• utilize various instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning experiences.

student relationships

• foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• build strong, respectful, and supportive relationships with students.
• encourage student participation and engagement in all classroom activities.
• address individual student needs and provide appropriate support and interventions.

classroom management

• establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior.
• implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• address behavioral issues promptly and fairly, using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques.
• create a structured and organized classroom routine that promotes learning and minimizes disruptions.

assessment and evaluation

• regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• use assessment data to inform instruction and identify areas for improvement.
• prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance and development.

collaboration and professional development

• work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
• participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum changes.
• contribute to the development and improvement of school policies and programs.
• attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.

additional responsibilities

• ensure the classroom environment is conduciive to learning, including maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs and learning objectives.
• encourage and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• serve as a role model for students, demonstrating professionalism, ethical behavior, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

preferred skills

• experience teaching, preferably 4-6 grade.
• strong knowledge of math and ela curriculum and instructional strategies.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• ability to manage a classroom effectively and build positive relationships with students.
• experience with integrating technology into the classroom.
• familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
• ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

salary commensurate with related experience.
