JOB GOAL:
To assess and provide a well-designed educational plan and instruction for students with disabilities

• Provide direct service to students with disabilities, consult with other staff on student and educational issues, work in inclusion and resource classrooms
• Knowledgeable about accommodations and modifications
• Knowledge regarding MCAS Accommodations and Alt. MCAS Development
• Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process by attending IEP meetings, working collaboratively with IEP team members, completing and preparing IEP paperwork, and delivering instruction in a meaningful and appropriate way to enable students to progress toward goals outlined in the IEP
• Complete Progress Reports
• Develop individualized lesson plans that meet criteria for specially designed instruction
• Plan, implement, and adapt instructional activities
• Administer appropriate educational assessments to determine eligibility for special education and to gather data for the development of the IEP
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curricular goals, and in congruency with those goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
• Provide appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques in order to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
• Collaborate with related Service professionals
• Communicate routinely with parents and other school personnel
• Perform duties to keep classroom area neat, clean, and safe
• Be able to support a remote learning environment
• Supervise support staff (paraprofessionals/tutors)
