Job Description

Leominster Public Schools – Leominster High School are seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a permanent, full‑time position for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role includes co‑teaching in academic classrooms and support classes that teach study skills, as well as instruction in executive functioning skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach academic and executive functioning skill classes.
  • Collaborate with other staff to develop IEPs and provide input for student reevaluations.
  • Communicate regularly with families of students receiving services.
  • Maintain service delivery logs and progress notes; use ongoing assessments to evaluate and report on student progress.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Master’s in Special Education with certification as Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, direct, and teach high‑school‑age students.
  • Skill at setting limits, processing events, and guiding students in behavior and self‑management.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including mandated reporting.
  • Experience with IEP‑focused service delivery or solution‑focused counseling.
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with students and parents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Reading Instruction training is not required but is an advantage.

Salary commensurate with related experience.
