Electrical Instructor
Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation (CTEi)
The Leominster Center for Technical Education Innovation is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Chapter 74 Vocational Electrical Instructor. This position includes administering instruction in both the classroom and the shop environment, the ordering and maintenance of electrical supplies, and the demonstration of proper work and safety techniques and habits. The right candidate must have very good communication skills, some experience with Microsoft office and the ability to work as part of a team.
Additionally, the candidate must have five years of recent (within the last seven years), full-time employment experience directly related to electricity and possess both a Massachusetts Journeyman and Master Electricians License. (We will guide the candidate through the teacher certification process if they do not currently possess teacher certification).
Job Description:
- The instructor will be expected to implement instruction with a focus on Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks for Electrical wiring.
- Track and maintain student classroom and work experience hours to sit for Journeyman’s license and sign off on hours upon.
- Commit to working collaboratively with fellow instructors across all disciplines.
- Ensure personal and professional growth on a yearly basis.
- Actively work with the Program Advisory Board, local business and industries, and other industry experts for continuous program improvement.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and communicate clear objectives to students.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Maintain all records necessary for reporting student grades, performance, and the documentation of students.
- Maintain the competency tracking system for each of your students.
- Counsel with colleagues and students on a regular basis.
- Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Prepare and/or assist in the development of a departmental budget.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student behavioral expectations and conduct.
- Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the school.
- Maintain safe working conditions of classroom/shop facilities.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the Principal/Director.
