We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with 6–10 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This is an opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, municipal, and land development projects throughout Massachusetts while partnering with talented engineers, designers, project managers, and construction professionals from concept through construction.
Our work continues to grow through long-standing client relationships and referrals, resulting in a strong backlog of projects extending through the end of 2027. As a Civil Engineer, you'll manage and support projects from early planning and design through permitting, construction, and project completion.
Engineering Design & Analysis- Prepare and oversee civil engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
- Design grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility infrastructure, roadways, parking facilities, and site development improvements.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HydroCAD and HEC-RAS.
- Develop erosion and sedimentation control plans in accordance with Massachusetts regulations.
- Review technical documents, calculations, and engineering plans to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare project scopes, proposals, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify solutions to keep projects moving.
Prepare and coordinate permitting packages with agencies including:
- MassDEP
- MassDOT
- Conservation Commissions
- Planning Boards
- Zoning Boards of Appeal
- Municipal Departments of Public Works
Ensure compliance with:
- Massachusetts Stormwater Standards
- Wetlands Protection Act
- Municipal subdivision regulations
- Local zoning requirements
- NPDES requirements and environmental regulations
- Conduct site visits and construction observations.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and contractor submittals.
- Provide engineering support during construction and resolve field issues.
- Prepare field reports and monitor construction progress.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in QA/QC reviews.
- Support proposal development and client presentations.
- Build lasting relationships with clients, consultants, and public agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 6–10 years of professional civil engineering experience.
- FE or EIT certification (Massachusetts or transferable).
- Experience with land development, municipal infrastructure, transportation, or civil site projects.
- Strong understanding of Massachusetts permitting processes and regulations.
