Position: Facilities & Life Safety Specialist
  • Administer and support the facilities management program for Health Alliance-Clinton hospital
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and The Joint Commission accreditation standards
  • Support space planning, project planning, departmental budgeting, and Public Safety Management
  • Administer department purchasing expenditures from quotes through receipt
  • Administer budgets for engineering, grounds, plant operations, and public safety
  • Track and supply data to management and contribute to department project plans
  • Prepare comprehensive capital planning plans covering resources, schedules, budgets, construction, maintenance, and Public Safety projects
  • Monitor project plans, schedules, budgets, and expenditures; elevate concerns to Facilities Management
  • Assist with Capital Projects budgets, annual operating budgets, capital requests, fiscal-year capital budgets, and cost-center tracking
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; obtain bids and coordinate service agreements
  • Work with Legal on standard service agreements and ensure vendor services are timely and properly performed
  • Review vendor invoices and track expenditures against budget plans
  • Manage the space program by maintaining and developing CAD plans for hospitals and assigned locations
  • Develop conceptual layout plans and designs and maintain/update architectural floor plans
  • Maintain drawings and square-footage reports with current project requirements, decisions, and objectives
  • Coordinate space allocation requests and layouts for new hires, moves, department changes, and new requirements
  • Serve on the Space Committee and provide research and recommendations to management
  • Schedule and coordinate facility maintenance, repair, space allocation, renovation, and remodeling programs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities, Space Planning/Design, Project Management or related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of related job experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to work independently in a team environment, showing judgment and initiative
  • Ability to work with others to resolve problems and address requests
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to prepare business reports, correspondence, guidelines, and procedure documentation
  • Able to read, write and speak clearly in English
  • Knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance programs, facilities resource planning, managing the central utility plant, capital planning, master planning, and capital project management
  • Knowledge of CAD software (preferred)
  • Scheduling, budget management, and department administration experience (preferred)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted where certification, licensure, or registration is not required
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands and work under the listed environmental conditions
