- The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding all clinical and educational components of the adult female residential treatment program for substance use and co-occurring disorders. In partnership with the Director of Women's Recovery Program, this role ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of program standards, resident-focused educational groups, and clinical services within the Women's Recovery Home model of care.
- As a Licensed Professional of the Healing Arts (LPHA) (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LADC1), the Clinical Supervisor provides individual and group supervision to licensure-track clinicians, case managers, bachelor's-level paraprofessionals, recovery specialists, and peer staff. This role requires expertise in both addiction and mental health treatment, with a focus on integrating evidence-based practices and building staff capacity to deliver high-quality, co-occurring disorder services.
- Supervision emphasizes assessment and treatment skill development, including fidelity monitoring, review of sessions, group observation, and structured documentation of supervision activities.
- Collaborate with program counselors and case managers to develop, implement, and evaluate resident educational programs focused on recovery, health, and wellness.
- Facilitate, supervise, and lead weekly clinical educational groups. Coordinate Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and advocate for residents' rights and benefits.
- Provide follow-up services and support for residents upon discharge.
- Deliver individual and group supervision to all counselors and case managers.
- Partner with the Director of Women's Recovery Program and Human Resources to train new staff and provide ongoing in-service training, including 42-CFR/HIPAA regulations and other required topics.
- Maintain accurate client records for annual review by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services and Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnerships.
- Offer information and referral services to connect residents with community resources that support individualized treatment plans and co-occurring disorder needs.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, seminars, and trainings to maintain licensure and certification requirements.
- Represent and communicate the programs of Catholic Charities to the community and individuals in need of services.
- Obtain training and clearance for Virtual Gateway (EIM/ESM access) to serve as backup for Program Director responsibilities and MBPH billing.
- Manage all program billing submissions to the agency's accounting department.
- Provide client transportation when appropriate.
- Follow safety protocols and promote a culture of safety through awareness, reporting, and safe practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in related field required
- LADC-1 preferred
- Valid driver's license
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Formal training in counseling skills and techniques, including knowledge of the 12 Core Functions and 46 Global Criteria of the Substance Abuse Counselor.
- Prior supervisory experience: clinical supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Lived experience is valued. Candidates with personal recovery experience are expected to demonstrate a minimum of two years of sustained recovery.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English as it relates to the job;
Spanish bilingual ability preferred. - Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills when working with staff, residents, and peers.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated professionalism in interactions with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
- Normal range of vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move within an office environment for extended periods.
- Ability to climb and descend stairs to access the office and program facilities.
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and function effectively in a high-stress environment.
- Emotional resilience to handle sensitive issues related to trauma, addiction, and mental health, while maintaining appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
- Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations.
- For recovering substance users, a demonstrated solid foundation in personal recovery is required to address individual addiction and recovery needs appropriately.
