Reports To:

Executive Director, Facilities, IT

Summary/Objective:
Direct support staff to the Facilities Manager and Technology Specialist/Coordinator. Responsible for supporting grounds maintenance. Supports the administration and maintenance of current owned and leased properties, building/ grounds, custodial, and general operations of the facility; including safety inspections. Must also be able to work in a team oriented environment and maintain excellent communication with staff. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Assist Facilities Manager and Technology Specialist/Coordinator with the installation, maintenance, and repair work of the facility and/or grounds as required.
  • Maintains flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies and initiates requisitions as needed.
  • Assists with implementation of new and/or modified methods, systems, programs, practices and/or procedures.
  • Works with the Executive Director, Facilities Manager, and Technology Specialist/Coordinator in the coordination of construction and renovation programs for the facility.
  • Assist the Technology Specialist/Coordinator with ongoing work assignments for programs as needed.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation and finishing including, but not limited to drywall, painting, woodwork, etc..
  • Learns and utilizes the site CMMS. Update work status and document tasks completed in the CMMS. Critical information is updated in real time.
  • Ensure a continuously clean environment with extra care given to our clean rooms.
  • Assist with conducting safety inspections of work areas.
  • Comply with applicable Federal, State, and local health, safety, environmental, and fire ordinances.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must also have adequate knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • General maintenance and technical skills.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local health, safety, environmental, and fire ordinances.

* Rate/Salary is determined by educational degree and years of experience.

Salary: $22 to $26 Per Hour

Job Requirements
  • Required

    Education and Experience:
    • Associates degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.
    • A minimum of two years of skilled trade school or maintenance experience/vocational schooling.
    • Proven experience working general maintenance, construction, or a similar hands-on role required.
    • Valid driver’s license OR 7D license if operating school vehicles.
  • Preferred

    Education and Experience:
    • Maintenance experience preferred.
    • Experience with HVAC, electrical, drywall, painting, plumbing, and general facilities.
  • Additional Eligibility

    Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with school environments is a plus.
  • At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
