This role is responsible for maintaining production equipment and facility systems, completing preventive maintenance tasks, documenting all work in a Centralized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and identifying potential equipment issues before they lead to downtime. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems, with a goal of achieving 100% PM completion.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery, including conveyors, molding machines, and basic automated equipment.
  • Install, inspect, clean, and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other mechanical components.
  • Identify mechanical faults, oil leaks, and equipment deficiencies during preventive maintenance inspections and generate work orders for corrective action.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues within the scope of training, qualifications, and safety requirements.
  • Complete general facility maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical repairs, and routine building upkeep.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, labor hours, parts usage, and completed preventive maintenance tasks in the CMMS.
  • Manage daily work orders while responding to urgent equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Regularly audit and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all applicable safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and GMP standards.
  • Follow established PPE requirements, environmental regulations, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, production teams, and leadership regarding equipment conditions, repairs, and ongoing issues.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting overall production and facility needs.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • General knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and common maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, work orders, and CMMS platforms, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment, welding, and mechanical power transmission is preferred.
  • Understanding of workplace safety, PPE, LOTO, GMP, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to changing maintenance needs.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Frequently walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Use hands and arms to reach, handle tools, and perform maintenance tasks.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas.
  • Occasionally lift and move materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess the visual abilities necessary to inspect equipment, identify defects, and perform maintenance tasks, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
