Travel: International travel as project needs require, up to 25%
Compensation: $130,000-$170,000 per year + Annual Bonus
Seaman Paper is a global manufacturer of specialty paper and sustainable packaging solutions serving retail, eCommerce, footwear, apparel, food service, and industrial markets. As the company continues to grow across products, facilities, functions, and regions, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) to bring greater structure, visibility, and accountability to how strategic projects are planned and executed.
The Senior Manager, PMO will build and lead a practical, results-focused PMO while personally managing selected strategic and cross-functional initiatives. This is a highly hands-on leadership role responsible for turning business priorities into clear project plans, aligning stakeholders and resources, identifying barriers, and driving initiatives through implementation and operational handoff.
The Senior Manager will work closely with executive sponsors and functional leaders to ensure that the organization is focused on the right priorities and projects have clear ownership, realistic timelines, appropriate resources, and measurable business outcomes.
Success requires strong manufacturing awareness, commercial and financial judgment, executive-level communication skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority. Equally important is a collaborative, coaching-oriented leadership style that builds trust while maintaining urgency and high expectations. The successful candidate will listen carefully, understand operating realities, address performance gaps directly and respectfully, and exercise sound judgment about when to support, challenge, or escalate while encouraging teams to surface concerns early.
Buildand Lead the PMO
- Establish and continuously improve a practical PMO framework that strengthens execution without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Create consistent standards for project intake, prioritization, business cases, project charters, scope, milestones, budgets, resources, risk management, change control, implementation, and project closeout.
- Maintain an enterprise-wide view of significant projects, providing leadership with visibility into priorities, progress, dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and expected outcomes.
- Partner with executive and functional leaders to evaluate project priorities and sequencing based on business strategy, customer commitments, financial impact, organizational capacity, and risk.
- Identify competing priorities and resource constraints early and help facilitate decisions around timing, scope, and resource allocation.
- Lead project and portfolio reviews focused on decisions, accountability, barriers, and next steps.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the PMO and recommend improvements to processes, tools, governance, and resources.
- Personally lead selected high-priority, complex, cross-functional projects from planning through implementation and operational handoff.
- Translate strategic objectives into clear project scope, deliverables, milestones, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and ownership.
- Coordinate execution across Commercial, Product Management, R&D, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Sustainability, Finance, IT, Human Resources, and external partners.
- Establish clear, achievable project commitments with accountable owners, confirming that expectations, resources, dependencies, and deadlines are understood; proactively follow up to ensure commitments are met.
- Monitor milestones, budgets, dependencies, risks, decisions, and resource requirements and drive corrective action when needed.
- Identify issues early, facilitate resolution, and elevate decisions when timelines, costs, resources, customer commitments, or expected outcomes are at risk.
- Lead or coordinate projects involving capital equipment, converting investments, facility expansions, supplier transitions, acquisition integrations, systems implementations, and business-process improvements.
