About the RoleThe role involves collaborating with management to ensure production schedules align with customer delivery deadlines and addressing any issues that may arise during production.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with management to plan and coordinate production schedules that meet customer delivery deadlines
- Attend weekly production and Change Parts meetings to review current work, upcoming jobs, material availability, and engineering changes
- Monitor execution of the production plan and proactively resolve scheduling or material issues
- Run MRP reports daily and take appropriate action
- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure the timely availability of materials and components
- Monitor parts progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery commitments
- Communicate schedule changes and priorities to Production, Change Parts, Spare Parts, Shipping, Purchasing, and management teams
- Issue parts pick lists as needed to support production and parts schedules
- Create Bills of Material (BOMs) from MRP when required
- Plan inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory
- Implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including issuing changes to the shop floor and coordinating updates for jobs in progress and materials on order or in stock
- Close production orders and ensure costs are accurately captured
- Review open orders, backorders, and forecast data to identify and resolve potential issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Industry
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, specifically capital equipment manufacturing.
Domain Expertise:
Proven experience with production planning, scheduling, and MRP systems in manufacturing.
Market
Experience:
Familiarity with US manufacturing operations, preferably in Massachusetts or a similar regulatory and operational environment
- At least 5+ years proven experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in capital equipment industry required
- Strong working knowledge of MRP systems and production order management
