Salary Range: $19.00 To $19.00 Hourly

DEPARTMENT: Respooling

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for spooling finished goods to be ready for shipping using the information given on the paperwork or as instructed by the supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment and minimize workplace hazards.
• Participate in training related to operation of machine and related paperwork, increase knowledge and awareness in order to assist in performing maintenance tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain consistency with good traverse to give the reel a good presentation.
• Inspect the cable during spooling to identify any defects.
• Notify supervisor of any issues and if items fail to meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, including product counts, machine settings, and maintenance activities, to track productivity and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Perform other similar and related duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong problem-solving and trouble‑shooting skills.
• Ability to work well with a team, but also be comfortable with doing independent projects.
• Good communication skills and patience.
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to sit down and stand up repeatedly.
• Frequency required hands to touch water when wetting the rag.
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
• Continually required to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Continually required to twist, turn, and bend body.
• Continually required hands to grip the cable while respooling.
• Continually required to move heavy reels.
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Specialized equipment used:
  Large cutter, steel cutter, diameter tape.
