About this Position

We are seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist for a manufacturing company in Leominster. The role will operate and program CNC and shop equipment to manufacture and refurbish precision parts, while ensuring quality, safety, and on-time production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and program HAAS CNC milling and/or turning machines
  • Create, modify, load, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G‑code and HAAS controls
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, CAD models, and tolerances to ensure accurate production
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters for machining operations
  • Perform first‑piece inspections and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment
  • Follow established procedures and communicate effectively with management to meet quality standards
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure proper machine guarding at all times
  • Track and report work order progress, including quantities produced
  • Cross‑train in machining and assembly functions within the department
  • Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Previous experience with manual machining
  • Experience creating and editing CNC programs using G‑code and HAAS controls
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
  • Experience selecting tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment
