About This Position:

Renovation Brands is looking for a detail-oriented Timesaver Machine Operator to join the manufacturing team for our Reggio Registers brand. In this role, you will safely operate a Timesaver wide-belt sanding machine and related equipment to sand, deburr, and finish metal components to precise specifications, playing a direct role in the quality and craftsmanship our customers count on. This is a hands-on production position suited to someone with mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, who takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work as part of a collaborative team.

  • Reports to: Director of Operations.
  • Hourly Rate:$19.00 - $22.00 p/hr (experience & interview performance will determine actual number within the range).
  • Shift: Mon-Fri, Full-time, 7:00am – 3:30pm, eligible for overtime pay as applicable.
What You’ll Do:

Production Responsibilities -
  • Safely operate and monitor the Timesaver wide-belt sander to process steel and metal components.
  • Operate drill equipment to drill, ream, or tap holes per blueprints, work orders, or specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machine settings (belt, grit, feed speed, pressure) based on material and required finish.
  • Load, position, and unload metal parts safely while maintaining proper material flow.
  • Sand, grind, and deburr parts, removing mill scale, weld discoloration, and surface imperfections.
  • Inspect finished parts for thickness, surface finish, flatness, hole accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Adjust settings during production to maintain quality and minimize scrap and rework.
  • Change belts, bits, and tooling; perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and adjustments.
  • Recognize and report equipment issues, excessive wear, or quality problems.
  • Maintain a clean work area and properly handle scrap and debris.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable work instructions.
Quality Responsibilities –

The Timesaver Operator is responsible for ensuring that processed material meets the specified requirements, including:

  • Overall surface appearance
  • Surface smoothness and consistency
  • Required material thickness
  • Flatness
  • Removal of burrs and sharp edges
  • Accuracy of drilled hole size, depth, and placement per specifications
  • Removal of mill scale or surface imperfections
  • Consistency between parts
  • Proper preparation for subsequent operations such as welding, painting, or powder coating
Safety Requirements –

Follow all machine-specific safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.

  • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, and other PPE specified for the operation.
  • Never bypass machine guards, interlocks, or safety devices.
  • Use proper material-handling techniques when loading and unloading steel.
  • Securely clamp or fixture parts before drilling to prevent spinning, and keep hands clear of the rotating drill bit and chuck.
  • Be aware of pinch points, rotating equipment, moving belts, drill chucks/bits, and sharp metal edges.
  • Maintain a clean work area to minimize slip, trip, fire, and dust hazards.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with wood, steel, or other sheet-metal products.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation.
  • Ability to read basic measurements using a tape measure, caliper, micrometer, or other measuring equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a production team.
  • Experience with grinding, deburring, sanding, or surface preparation.
  • Previous experience in a metal-fabrication or machine-shop environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift more than 50 lbs. repeatedly each day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull parts and part containers.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time each day.
