3rd Shift Blow Mold Lead

SUMMARY The Department Zone Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the production activities within a specific zone or area of the manufacturing facility They are responsible for ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high quality standards and a safe working environment Being a Department Zone Lead requires a balance of technical expertise leadership capabilities and a commitment to safety and quality The role is crucial for the smooth functioning of the manufacturing process and the achievement of production goals

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function

• Coordinate and prioritize production activities within the designated zone
• Ensure that production schedules are adhered to and that products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards
• Collaborate with other department leads to optimize overall production flow
• Lead a team of production workers and operators within the zone
• Provide guidance training and support to team members to enhance their skills and productivity
• Encourage a positive and cooperative working atmosphere to foster team cohesion and morale
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required quality standards
• Perform required quality control testing recording and charting procedures ensuring that nonconforming product is handled according to company policy and procedures
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or non compliance
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the zone ensuring all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines
• Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly to prevent accidents and injuries
• Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the zone
• Coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement
• Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to optimize production processes
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of production activities quality reports and inventory levels
• Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and key performance indicators KPIs to management
• Participate in training programs to stay updated on manufacturing techniques safety regulations and industry best practices
• Share knowledge and skills with team members to enhance their professional development
• Adhere to established company values practices policies and procedures at all times
• Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules laws regulations and standards
• Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location

An individual qualified for this job must be able to

• Accurately multiply divide add and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems
• Operate a computer PC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively
• Wearuse required PPE personal protective equipment
• Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed
• Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs
• Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications

• Previous experience in a high speed production environment or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the above duties
• Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
• Experience with lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable
