Custodian

This is a physically demanding position requiring an individual to independently clean, sanitize, maintain, and prepare all areas of the school and all areas of the Field House
.

The Custodian will independently be responsible for:

• Cleaning the entire school campus.
• Cleaning the entire Field House.
• Cleaning all classrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, workrooms, storage areas, and other school spaces.
• Cleaning all Field House areas, including locker rooms, showers, restrooms, athletic areas, offices, hallways, storage areas, and common areas.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, disinfecting, and maintaining floors and surfaces throughout both facilities.
• Cleaning and disinfecting all restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, floors, and related surfaces.
• Cleaning and disinfecting locker rooms and shower facilities.
• Removing trash from the entire campus and Field House.
• Replenishing restroom, classroom, athletic, and custodial supplies.
• Performing routine and periodic deep cleaning throughout both facilities.
• Cleaning windows, walls, doors, floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces as needed.
• Responding to spills, accidents, bodily-fluid cleanup, unexpected messes, and other immediate custodial needs.
• Preparing facilities for school functions, athletic events, meetings, special events, and community activities.
• Cleaning facilities following events and activities.
• Maintaining facilities during periods of heavy use.
• Performing additional cleaning and facility-related duties as needs arise.
• Reporting maintenance problems, damage, safety concerns, supply shortages, and equipment issues.
• Maintaining and properly storing custodial equipment and supplies.
• Safely handling cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment.
• Performing exterior cleaning and other basic facility-related duties as assigned.
• Prioritizing competing custodial needs throughout the school and Field House without routine assistance from another employee.

The employee is responsible for the full custodial workload associated with both the school campus and Field House.

Applicants should carefully consider the scope of this position before accepting employment. The responsibilities listed in this description represent the normal expectations of the position and are not limited to cleaning classrooms.

The employee may be required to determine which tasks must be prioritized when multiple areas require attention at the same time. The employee is expected to independently manage the workload necessary to keep the facilities operational, sanitary, and presentable.

The Custodian may be required to work outside normal school hours based on the operational needs of the district, including athletic events, school activities, special events, facility use, and other scheduled activities.

The position may require cleaning before and after events, responding to unexpected custodial needs, and maintaining facilities while the campus and Field House are actively being used.

Because the position is staffed by one individual, the employee should expect periods in which multiple facilities, events, and cleaning priorities require attention simultaneously
