Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse (Leonardtown, MD)

Travel Nurse — Cardiac Stepdown RN (Leonardtown, MD) | 13-week travel nursing assignment in a Southern Maryland IMC/Telemetry unit. Join a collaborative team providing specialized cardiac and progressive care for adult patients.

• Location: Leonardtown, MD 20650 (Southern Maryland healthcare, Maryland nursing jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1710-$1800/week
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 6, 2026
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / IMC Unit (15 beds) — Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient Population: Adults
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Floating: Required to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed

• Active RN license in Maryland or a Compact State (Maryland travel nurse jobs)
• Minimum 2 years recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown or Telemetry RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (min 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Proven experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and treatment
• Ability to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two supervisor references required

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a Cardiac Stepdown/IMC/PCU setting
• Continuous cardiac monitoring and timely dysrhythmia recognition and response
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and manage non-titratable cardiac drips
• Care for patients with chest tubes, enteral feeding tubes, and central/peripheral lines
• Utilize bedside monitoring equipment, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP/CPAP, and patient lift equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social services
• Float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units when operationally required
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives
• Follow infection control policies and isolation precautions
