LocationSt. Mary’s County Public Schools, Department of Information Technology, Leonardtown, MD
OverviewPosition is an exempt, full-time role focused on leadership in designing, planning, and implementing technical solutions to support the SMCPS network. Works under the direction of the Director of Information Technology and/or Supervisor of Information Technology.
Responsibilities- Provide administration of IT programs with emphasis on security for various facilities.
- Engage in project planning, knowledge of technology systems, and understanding IT needs of staff; manage vendor relationships.
- Diagnose problems with computers, printers, public address systems, network equipment, and related technologies.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain LAN/WAN network devices to ensure optimal data connection.
- Review work requests for progress and follow up to improve customer service.
- Develop and maintain documentation on network technology and system specifications.
- Attend meetings regarding network technology specifications and coordinate new installations to meet specifications.
- Prepare reports for management and stakeholders; present technology planning updates and program overviews.
- Troubleshoot software-related problems and provide daily support; respond to after-hour emergencies as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of experience in a technology field
- Valid driver’s license with no more than four (4) Maryland points; no recent alcohol or controlled substances offenses as defined by policy
- Three (3) of the following qualifications (documentation must be uploaded with the application):
- Sixty (60) semester hours or higher from an accredited college or university
- Current CompTIA Security+
- Seven (7) years or more experience as Subject Matter Expert in Enterprise IT support
- Current Microsoft Certified (Associate or Expert)
- Current Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCENT, CCDP, CCIE, CCAR)
- Current Apple Certified Technician
- Current CompTIA A+
- Current CompTIA Network+
- Current VMware Certification
- Current Aruba Certification
- Current Linux Certification
- Current Project Management Certification
- Current SMART Technicians Certification
- Current Dell Client Systems Support and Troubleshooting Certification
- Current Solar Winds Certified Professional
- Networking Operating System Certification (Cumulus or equivalent)
Term of Employment:
Full-time twelve-month position.
Salary:
The salary for this exempt position is based on the EASMC-ESP salary schedule for twelve-month seven-hour employees – Range 31. $69,664-$105,363 per year.
