American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a completed travel assignment.
Details- General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Every other weekend coverage required, including 6 weekend shifts (Friday and Saturday nights) per 6-week schedule
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Active RN license
- Compact or MD state license required - BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience within the last 7 years required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in pediatric emergency care including asthma, seizures, head injury, and infection management
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Manage triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting as needed
- Orientation held every Monday
- Scrubs not provided; royal blue color required
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Manager interviews are not guaranteed
