American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit/IMC night shift position requiring PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience and at least one completed travel assignment.
Details- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC) of a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
- IMC patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend coverage required, with weekend assignments directed by unit based on operational needs
- Float required to Telemetry and/or Med-Surg units as needed, which carry a 1:5/1:6 ratio
- Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- 2 years of recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required within the last 7 years
- At least one completed travel assignment required for consideration
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
- Experience with central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring required
- Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, and IV insulin protocols required
- Experience managing feeding tubes, isolation precautions/PPE, and renal/dialysis-related care required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Provide direct patient care to progressive/intermediate care unit patients, including cardiac monitoring and respiratory management
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
- First-time travelers are not eligible; at least one completed travel assignment is required
