Overview

Breton Bay Golf & Country Club boasts one of the finest 18-hole golf facilities in the area, with breathtaking views of the Bay ready to welcome you at the first tee. The course provides five tee options to accommodate all playing levels. Club amenities include a full-length driving range, practice chipping and putting green, a fully stocked golf shop, locker rooms, a large aquatic facility, tennis courts and it is home to the Ironwood Grill for relaxing after your round.

Host of the Southern Maryland Amateur Invitational since 1978 with over 180 competitors.

This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain meaningful experience in a high-volume, semi-private club setting while developing the skills necessary for a successful career in the golf industry.

Breton Bay hosts over 30,000 rounds annually with more than half comprised of member play.

This position will be seasonal with the opportunity to transition to full-time based on experience and performance throughout the season.

• Strong understanding of golf operations and the ability to oversee Club Tournaments
• Desire to pursue or continue a career as a PGA/LGPGA Professional (PGA/PGM students encouraged to apply)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous golf shop or golf operations experience required
• Ability to interact professionally with Members, Guests, and Staff
• Knowledge of USGA Handicap System (GHIN) Golf Tournament Software (Blue Golf) Quick learner of POS Systems (Fore Up), and well verses in Microsoft Applications and Marketing Platforms

• Deliver exceptional, high-end customer service to Members and Guests in a professional, semi-private environment
• Develop, execute, and lead our Junior / Ladies Golf Clinics
• Assist with daily merchandising, display standards, and overall presentation of the Golf Shop
• Support Professional Staff with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security standards
• Coordinate closely with the Professional Staff to ensure smooth daily golf operations
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of tournaments and events
• Take responsibility of running select Tournaments from start to finish with key duties in the success of each event
• Greet and check in Members and Guests, ensuring accurate tee time management and a welcoming experience
• Operate and manage the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, including:
  • Processing merchandise and green fee transactions
  • Handling member charges and payments accurately
  • Maintaining organized and accurate transaction records
• Answer phones and assist with tee times, inquiries, and general golf operation communication
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Pro Shop environment at all times
• Provide support across all areas of the golf operation as needed to ensure a seamless member and guest experience
