Wichita County is located approximately 30 miles east of the Colorado border and halfway between Nebraska and Oklahoma in western Kansas. The community has quality health care, recreation, and other amenities expected in a community our size. Enrollment is steady with a student population of 418 in Pre-K to 12.

In 2009 Wichita County passed a bond issue to build a new grade school which opened in August of 2011. The district has a dedicated Agriculture Building, Greenhouse, and a Weight Room facility.
