Position Overview

Reporting to the Human Resources and Communications Manager, the Recruitment Officer is responsible for supporting recruitment and staffing services to attract, select, and retain a qualified workforce. This role coordinates recruitment processes, supports onboarding, and contributes to staff development initiatives within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including posting, screening, selection, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Ensure recruitment activities align with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal managers and external partners to support recruitment initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment and employee documentation and files.
  • Prepare employment contracts, extensions, and service agreements.
  • Coordinate and deliver employee orientation processes and materials.
  • Support staff development and training initiatives, including tracking and coordination.
  • Maintain and update job descriptions and recruitment records.
  • Monitor casual and term employment timelines and status.
  • Prepare and submit regular recruitment and activity reports.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Business Administration or a related field, with a minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) or related designation is an asset.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment legislation is an asset.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic project coordination and planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of Blackfoot language and culture is considered an asset.
