Controls Journeyman Electrician - Lethbridge

DescriptionPosition Summary:
We are currently looking for Journeyman Electricians to join our growing Lethbridge automation team. As a Journeyman, you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of basic electronic theory and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.
Responsibilities- Installs, wiring, BMS and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of installations.
- Repairs and maintains low voltage systems (under 120V).
- Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
- Assist with site commissioning, point to point verifications, troubleshootingandstartup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
- Appropriately handles and is familiar with all testing and electrical repair tools and equipment.
- Perform tasks with minimum supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth GDI Health&Safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Understand fundamentals of how HVAC systems operate on commercial buildings.
- Work with and understand HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Clear communications in English – both written and oral.
- Strong trouble shooting skills.
- Ambitious learner who wants to progress in their career for building systems.
- Experience working with low voltage.
- Experience with HVAC, building automation systems and VFD’s an asset
- Experience with programming languages or IT infrastructure an asset.
- Experience in PLC an asset.
- Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
- Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral
- Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work
- Commercial / Construction installations experience
