The Crossing Company - LRD South
Taber, AB , CAN

The Crossing Company – Light Rig Division (LRD) is growing, and we're looking for experienced, motivated, and safety-focused individuals to join our team. As one of North America's largest trenchless construction companies, our people are the reason we lead — and we're committed to helping you build a long, rewarding career in the field.

We're looking for experienced Drillers and Rig Managers to lead our HDD crews in the field. These are senior roles for people who've put in the years, know how to run a safe and efficient operation, and can get the best out of their crew. If you've got the experience and the drive to lead, we want to hear from you.

What

You'll Do
  • Lead, train, and direct the drilling crew
  • Run safe, efficient HDD operations from mobilization through tear-down
  • Monitor drilling and equipment performance to keep the operation on target
  • Own safety on site — from hazard planning to emergency response
  • Take responsibility for your crew's performance and the outcomes on your rig
What We're Looking For
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience on a horizontal directional drilling rig (40K–220K rigs, Vermeer preferred)
  • Proven leadership — you know how to run a crew and bring out their best
  • A strong commitment to safety — for yourself and everyone on your crew
  • Strong communication and the ability to work well with internal and external partners
  • Physically fit and comfortable performing labour-intensive work in all outdoor weather conditions
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license required
  • Safety tickets: SFA (Standard/Intermediate First Aid), H2S Alive, GDII, PCST, CSTS 2020
  • 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, with rotations
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across Western Canada
  • Ability to successfully pass pre‑employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing
What We Offer
  • Competitive wages based on your position and experience, plus overtime on all hours over 44 per week
  • Premium for holding an experienced Class 1 driver's license
  • Comprehensive benefits — dental, vision, life insurance, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Paid travel to and from worksites, plus Living Out Allowance (LOA)
  • Accommodations provided while on project
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided
  • A genuine safety-first culture and real opportunities to grow and move up
Ready to Lead Our Crew?

If you've got the experience and want to lead with a team that's got your back, we want to hear from you. Apply today.
