Position: Housing Counselor

About the Role

As a Housing Counselor, you will work directly with individuals and families to help them stabilize their housing, strengthen their finances, and move toward long-term independence. This is a highly people-focused role that blends one-on-one counseling, education, advocacy, and community outreach.

You will be supported with training, clear processes, and a collaborative team environment as you grow into the role.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide one-on-one housing counseling to clients facing foreclosure, eviction, or housing instability
  • Support clients through pre-purchase and post-purchase home ownership counseling
  • Help individuals build financial skills related to budgeting, credit, savings, and debt management
  • Facilitate group workshops on housing and financial literacy topics
  • Serve as a trusted resource by offering clear guidance, referrals, and follow-up support
  • Participate in outreach efforts, including community events and partner engagement, to ensure services are accessible to the community
  • Maintain accurate client records using CCC’s case management system in accordance with HUD and PHFA requirements
  • Assist with required reporting and documentation to support program funding and accountability
Who You Are

You are someone who enjoys helping people, communicating clearly, and working in a mission-driven environment. You may come from housing, financial services, human services, nonprofit work, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of housing, mortgages, financial services, or community programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort working one-on-one with diverse individuals and families
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and grow as the agency expands
Position Requirements
  • You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks
Preferred (but not required):
  • 3–5 years of experience in housing, financial services, or human services
  • Bilingual skills
