About the Role
As a Housing Counselor, you will work directly with individuals and families to help them stabilize their housing, strengthen their finances, and move toward long-term independence. This is a highly people-focused role that blends one-on-one counseling, education, advocacy, and community outreach.
You will be supported with training, clear processes, and a collaborative team environment as you grow into the role.
What You’ll Do- Provide one-on-one housing counseling to clients facing foreclosure, eviction, or housing instability
- Support clients through pre-purchase and post-purchase home ownership counseling
- Help individuals build financial skills related to budgeting, credit, savings, and debt management
- Facilitate group workshops on housing and financial literacy topics
- Serve as a trusted resource by offering clear guidance, referrals, and follow-up support
- Participate in outreach efforts, including community events and partner engagement, to ensure services are accessible to the community
- Maintain accurate client records using CCC’s case management system in accordance with HUD and PHFA requirements
- Assist with required reporting and documentation to support program funding and accountability
You are someone who enjoys helping people, communicating clearly, and working in a mission-driven environment. You may come from housing, financial services, human services, nonprofit work, or a related field.
We’re especially interested in candidates who bring:
- Knowledge of housing, mortgages, financial services, or community programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfort working one-on-one with diverse individuals and families
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and grow as the agency expands
- You must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background checks
- 3–5 years of experience in housing, financial services, or human services
- Bilingual skills
