Performs or is capable of performing all the clerical duties in the department. assuring smooth operation of computer and other retrieval systems a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for designated area/procedures as required.
ResponsibilitiesUses PACS, Power Share, CD burners or hard copy for the distribution of images to patients and providers. Assures information being released is accurate and is what was requested. Follows HIPPA law when releasing images. Completes all documentation of image releases and scans signed release forms to patient accounts to computer system. Thorough understanding of history in Radiology Information System to determine action needed for image interpretation.
Understands medical record filing system for the accurate retrieval and re-filing of mammography film and images stored by our off-site vendor. Completes work‑lists for call results and priority results by communicating exam results in a timely manner and completing documentation Thorough understanding of the downtime process and accurate use of the procedures when systems are down including recovery processes when systems are back online.
Responds to telephone/verbal requests and inquiries for services from patients, physicians and other appropriate health care professionals. Communicates messages to next shift, alerting them of possible or known problems.
One year clerical experience, preferably medical, and/or equivalent applicable experience. Good knowledge of body mechanics. Knowledge of medical terminology.
