Excelcare at Lewes is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Onboarding Specialist to support the successful onboarding of newly hired employees across our skilled nursing facilities. This role serves as a key liaison between candidates, facility leadership, and corporate teams to ensure a smooth and positive transition from offer acceptance through the first day of employment.

This is a non-HR position focused on onboarding coordination, compliance, communication, and new hire support. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-service oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Onboarding Specialist Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires from offer acceptance through their first day of employment.
  • Ensure all required pre-employment documentation, licenses, certifications, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communicate regularly with candidates, facility leadership, and corporate departments to provide updates and support throughout the onboarding process.
  • Schedule pre-employment appointments, orientations, and start dates while maintaining onboarding timelines.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and follow up on outstanding items to ensure a seamless hiring experience.
  • Assist with onboarding audits and maintain accurate electronic records and employee files.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to new hires by answering questions and guiding them through the onboarding process.
  • Partner with recruiters and facility teams to support staffing goals and ensure a positive new employee experience.
Onboarding Specialist Qualifications
  • Previous experience in onboarding, recruiting coordination, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems (ATS) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
