The Assistant Nurse Manager provides support to the Nurse Manager in planning, organizing, and implementing specific services within the unit. This role is responsible for assisting with fiscal management, performance improvement activities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. The Assistant Nurse Manager will participate in all aspects of personnel processes, communicate effectively, and assist in making timely decisions and managing change.
This position requires strong collaboration with all departments and serves as bench strength for the Nurse Manager position.
- Assists the Nurse Manager in assessment, skill proficiency evaluation, equipment and supply management, patient satisfaction initiatives, staffing, and scheduling.
- Supports the Nurse Manager in overseeing the unit.
- Assists with the management of personnel processes, including but not limited to hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Participates in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Effectively communicates information to staff, patients, and other stakeholders.
- Assists the Nurse Manager in making timely decisions and managing change processes.
- Collaborates with all departments as part of the management team.
- Utilizes a personal cell phone for business purposes.
- Minimum of 2 years Critical Care experience required
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon completion of department orientation
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Magnet Recognition preferred).
- OR RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program + Bachelor s Degree in a related field.
- Active pursuit of a Master s degree in Nursing (MSN) if not already possessing a BSN.
