Full-Time | Sound FX Automotive
$20–$25/hour | Paid Professional Tint School & Training
Want to build a career in automotive customization but don’t have professional window tinting experience yet?
We’ll teach you. Sound FX Automotive is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as Automotive Window Tint Apprentices . This isn’t a position where you’ll spend months standing around watching someone else work. We’ve built a training path designed to take the right person from apprentice to professional window tint installer. You’ll learn hands-on from some of the most experienced tinters in the region.
Then, after approximately 90–120 days of in-house training, Sound FX will send you to one of the country’s leading professional window tint schools – on us. We’ll invest in the training.
You bring the attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Our goal is to develop you into a professional installer who can confidently tint a wide variety of vehicles from start to finish. During your apprenticeship, you’ll learn:
- Proper vehicle and glass preparation
- Automotive window film installation techniques
- How to properly handle and work with window film
- Computer-cut tint patterns and plotter operation
- Hand-cutting techniques
- Film shrinking and forming
- Proper trimming and finishing techniques
- Film removal
- How to prevent and identify contamination
- How to work with different vehicles and glass configurations
- The differences between window film products and their applications
- Proper care and protection of customer vehicles
- How to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
You’ll work alongside our existing tint team, assisting with real customer vehicles while developing your skills.
The goal isn’t to teach you how to put film on glass. It’s to teach you how to become a professional tinter.
The beginning of your apprenticeship is all about learning the fundamentals and building good habits. Y ou’ll:
- Assist experienced Sound FX window tint installers
- Practice and develop your skills under supervision
- Learn our computer and plotter systems
- Help prepare vehicles and work areas
- Keep installation areas clean and organized
- Ask questions and actively participate in your training
- Learn how Sound FX protects and handles customer vehicles
- Receive coaching and constructive feedback from experienced installers
We expect mistakes while you’re learning. What matters is how you respond to them. We’re looking for someone who listens, takes feedback seriously, makes adjustments, and comes back the next day determined to be better.
Then We’re Sending You to School.Once you’ve built a solid foundation (typically after 90–120 days
) Sound FX will invest even further in your development. You’ll attend one of the leading professional window tint training schools in the country, paid for by Sound FX. There, you’ll build on everything you’ve learned in our shops with additional professional instruction and hands‑on training. You’ll return to Sound FX ready to continue developing toward becoming one of Delmarva’s premier automotive window tint installers.
That’s the career path.
