Children and Families First Delaware Inc is seeking a Middle-School Based Counselor to provide school-based behavioral health services to middle school students. In this role, you will offer individual and group counseling, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans that support students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. You will collaborate closely with school staff, families, and community partners to coordinate services, respond to crises, and connect students to needed resources.

Working within a mission-driven, trauma-informed, and family-centered agency, you'll join a supportive, inclusive team committed to equity and long-term family stability. Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to middle school students to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate, confidential case documentation
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and community partners to coordinate supports and referrals
  • Respond to student crises using trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies
  • Deliver psycho educational groups and classroom presentations on topics such as coping skills, conflict resolution, and peer relationships
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data and feedback
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations
  • Engage families to support student success and connect them to community resources
  • Ensure services align with agency policies, ethical standards, and school regulations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a mission-driven, inclusive work culture
