About the Role
As a Quality Engineer, you'll collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams while also serving as a primary contact for OEM customers. You will support new product launches, problem solving, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on stamping processes.
What You'll Do
- Support and maintain the company's quality systems to meet automotive standards.
- Act as a technical liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality.
- Lead quality activities including APQP, PPAP submissions, prototype builds, and pre-production launches.
- Evaluate designs and processes to ensure manufacturability and superior part quality.
- Conduct capability studies, process potential studies, and apply SPC to monitor stamping processes.
- Review and maintain quality documents including control plans, FMEAs, and process flows.
- Address customer concerns, lead problem-solving efforts, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to manufacturing and quality personnel on equipment, processes, and quality tools.
- Participate in customer and internal audits.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing with a strong emphasis on metal stamping.
- Experience working directly with General Motors and/or other OEM customers.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and customer portals.
- Certified IATF Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in statistical tools such as Minitab is preferred.
