Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The EHS/ESG Specialist supports the company's environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. This role helps ensure compliance with environmental regulations, customer requirements, and company sustainability goals while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Track energy, water, natural gas, electricity, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
- Support waste reduction, recycling, and hazardous waste management programs.
- Assist with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 50001 Energy Management initiatives.
- Coordinate air, wastewater, and stormwater compliance activities.
- Conduct environmental inspections and audits.
- Prepare environmental and sustainability reports.
- Support employee health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate sustainability awareness and employee engagement programs.
- Track employee training and participation.
- Assist with community outreach, volunteer, and diversity initiatives.
- Support customer social responsibility audits and responsible sourcing programs.
- Collect and analyze ESG performance data.
- Prepare ESG reports and maintain dashboards and records.
- Track ESG key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support customer sustainability surveys and supplier ESG assessments.
- Assist with ESG audits, corrective actions, and risk assessments.
- Help maintain policies related to ethics and responsible business practices.
- Monitor carbon reduction and sustainability projects.
- Improve recycling and waste diversion performance.
- Benchmark ESG performance against industry standards.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with EHS, Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, HR, and Quality teams to support sustainability initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Business Sustainability, or a related field.
Experience- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ESG reporting.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 50001 preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Environmental regulations and OSHA requirements.
- GHG Protocol and sustainability reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD).
- Customer sustainability requirements (GM, Ford, Stellantis, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen).
- Environmental management systems and continuous improvement practices.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Strong Excel and Power BI skills.
- Project management.
- Root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
Organization and time management.

In an automotive manufacturing environment, this role supports energy management, water conservation, emissions reduction, PFAS initiatives, waste management, customer sustainability scorecards, supplier ESG compliance, and regulatory compliance while integrating sustainability into daily operations.
