Maintenance Technician (Level
2)

This role involves performing advanced industrial maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. You will support production by maintaining and repairing equipment such as stamping presses, conveyors, pumps, motors, and associated control systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation across multiple shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, stamping presses, conveyors, pumps, motors, and related components.
  • Diagnose and repair issues using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to restore equipment to safe and efficient operating condition.
  • Read and interpret PLC ladder logic, with a preference for experience in Siemens or Allen-Bradley systems, to identify and resolve control-related problems.
  • Work on sensors, hydraulics, servo drives, motors, pumps, and conveyors, ensuring proper function, calibration, and integration with control systems.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and hydraulic equipment, including three-phase motor controls and AC/DC servo drives.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, including hydraulic pumps, valves, and associated electrical controls.
  • Perform industrial maintenance tasks such as mechanical repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Use schematics and technical documentation to plan and execute repairs and maintenance activities accurately and safely.
  • Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and working to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities as required and communicate equipment status, issues, and recommendations to relevant team members.
  • Train and work initially on first shift, then transition to assigned shift (second or third) while maintaining flexibility for overtime and weekend work as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and contribute to a safe working environment in a heavy industrial setting.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical and hydraulic equipment maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician performing both mechanical and strong electrical troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic, with a preference for experience in Siemens or Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Hands-on experience working with hydraulic pumps, valves, and electrical controls.
  • Knowledge of three-phase motor controls and AC/DC servo drives.
  • Strong skills in electrical troubleshooting, including PLC control and electrical maintenance.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to work overtime and every other weekend, depending on production needs and projects.

Work

Environment

The role is based in a heavy industrial facility focused on metal stamping for the automotive industry. The environment is not temperature controlled and can be hot or cold depending on the season. The plant is noisy due to stamping presses running continuously, and employees should be comfortable working around high-volume industrial machinery. Overtime is available and may be required based on production needs.

Employees must provide their own steel-toed boots or safety shoes, while ear protection, safety glasses, and gloves are supplied. Uniforms are provided and paid for maintenance staff, supporting a consistent and professional appearance on the shop floor.
