Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our Environmental Compliance team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to provide our customers with safe, reliable, affordable energy they depend on.

While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely (typically three days in the office and two days remote). In addition, this role involves substantial field work, spending 60% or more of time working directly with field personnel. The successful candidate would be expected to have a similar field presence.

What does a Senior Environmental Compliance Engineer do for us?

Operating under minimal supervision and using independent initiative, this employee will have comprehensive technical expertise in their field. This role provides programmatic leadership related to environmental compliance and regulatory, strategic, and policy advice to support Idaho Power’s business objectives and to foster a culture of compliance. This role utilizes knowledge and expertise in the review, development and implementation of Idaho Power’s environmental compliance program, while also supporting interaction between Idaho Power and regulatory agencies.

This role plans and leads complex assignments and projects and interfaces with internal departments and external organizations as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution

OR

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a non-ABET accredited institution and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license

Experience:

• 6 years of related engineering experience

OR

• 5 years of related engineering experience plus P.E. or advanced engineering degree, and 3 years in the area of expertise
  • Demonstrated advanced level experience reviewing and interpreting requirements, including laws, rules, and regulations

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position for all roles

Preferred:

• P.E. license
