About the Role
As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering Columbia Bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards. Guided by the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the Teller’s primary responsibility is to perform banking transactions accurately, ethically, and in compliance with bank procedures and regulations, while maintaining and enhancing client relationships.
Responsibilities- Perform teller transactions and cash handling functions accurately and confidentially (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, cash drawer balancing).
- Support daily branch tasks that maintain integrity, such as double custody for ATM balances, night drop deposits, negotiable instruments, returned mail, credit card machine balancing, and lobby rate sheet updates.
- Mitigate risk by safeguarding cash in the drawer and ensuring prompt accounting or transfer of funds.
- Interact with internal and external clients, anticipate needs, and provide proactive solutions aligned with the Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
- Continuously deepen knowledge of Columbia Bank’s products and services, staying current on changes.
- Identify customer financial needs and offer appropriate products and services, supporting referral goals for the branch.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- One year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to learn and comply with all bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with numbers and instructions.
- Willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.
The pay range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. Salary is based on non‑discriminatory factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation.

- Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following hire for associates working at least 30 hours weekly.
