Freedom Munitions is seeking an experienced Senior HR Specialist to support the full employee lifecycle across our manufacturing operations in Lewiston,  role will handle core HR functions including payroll support, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance recordkeeping, with a strong emphasis on accurate, timely processing through ADP. The ideal candidate brings solid generalist HR experience, sound judgment in employee relations matters, and comfort operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer payroll processing and data entry using ADP, ensuring accuracy across pay periods, tax with holdings, and deductions
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to pay, benefits, PTO, and HR policy
  • Support open enrollment, benefits changes, and leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers' comp)
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee files, I-9 documentation, and HR records
  • Partner with department supervisors on employee relations issues, performance documentation, and corrective action
  • Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation, including ADP setup for new employees
  • Support recruiting efforts as needed, including scheduling, offer letter preparation, and background check coordination
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law (FLSA, EEO, OSHA recordkeeping)
  • Generate HR reports and metrics (turnover, headcount, absenteeism) using ADP reporting tools
  • Contribute to policy updates and employee handbook maintenance
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • ADP Workforce Now (or similar ADP platform) experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration, and employment law compliance
  • Strong discretion and judgment in handling confidential employee information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification a plus, not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based with regular presence on the manufacturing floor
  • Ability to walk production areas, including exposure to noise, and PPE requirements as applicable
