MAJUS Consulting is seeking a Network Infrastructure Modernization Engineer to lead the strategic transition from legacy switch infrastructure to a modern, resilient, and high-performance network environment. This role is critical in addressing outdated systems, enhancing BGP failover configurations, and guiding organizational change. The mission is to enable secure, scalable, and future-ready network infrastructure while building stakeholder consensus and minimizing operational disruptions.
WhatWill You Do?
- Evaluate existing legacy switch infrastructure and define a modernization roadmap aligned with future-state architecture.
- Lead efforts to optimize BGP failover across primary, secondary, and tertiary switching paths.
- Develop and execute migration strategies that reduce downtime and improve performance.
- Collaborate with IT leaders and stakeholders to address resistance and support organizational change.
- Support the development of change management communications, training materials, and rollout plans.
- Deep knowledge of BGP, switch design, and high-availability network infrastructure.
- Ability to identify and remediate bottlenecks in legacy networking systems.
- Proficient in crafting and executing large-scale network migration plans.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build trust and overcome resistance to change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical documentation and stakeholder briefings.
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure modernization, or enterprise architecture.
- Proven experience with Cisco and other enterprise-grade switch platforms.
- Expertise in BGP routing protocols, redundancy design, and network performance tuning.
- Strong change management skills, with a track record of navigating organizational transformation.
- Familiarity with federal IT standards or modernization frameworks is a plus.
- CCNP, CCIE, or other networking certifications are a plus.
- Certifications in change management or ITIL are also beneficial.
Must be eligible to work in secure federal environments.
