The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficiency of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This includes the planning, design, development, and maintenance of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and associated network infrastructure. The Network Engineer supports day-to-day network operations, monitors system performance, troubleshoots network issues, and participates in implementing network and security upgrades across the organization.
EssentialFunctions
- Design, deploy, and manage company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks including routers, switches, servers, and UPS systems.
- Ensure reliable operation and performance of the network infrastructure to support organizational needs.
- Monitor and analyze network performance troubleshoot and resolve problem areas.
- Create and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and service tickets.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot end-user workstations, software, and peripheral devices.
- Ensure network connectivity for all systems, including servers, telephony, and network appliances.
- Manage servers such as email, print, database, and backup servers, and associated systems.
- Maintain inventory and documentation of network assets and specifications.
- Participate in server and security audits, backups, and system recovery processes.
- Assist in managing network security solutions and monitor for potential threats.
- Guide and support the IT Help Desk team and provide training as needed.
- Participate in after-hours support and on‑call duties as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong technical understanding of network infrastructure and systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and network administration tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field (Required)
- Other:
Microsoft certified professional, A+ or equivalent Upon Hire (Preferred)
- 3+ years experience in managing and maintaining a network environment required (Required)
- 3+ years experience supporting Microsoft applications and troubleshooting hardware (Required)
