Marvel Manufacturing is a growing precision CNC machine shop in Lewiston,  business is serving people not just making parts (“People first, Parts included”). We offer multi-axis turning, Swiss machining, milling, and 5-axis machining with a focus on medium volume production of small to medium sized parts.

This position is crucial to growing Marvel Manufacturing’s capacity to serve current customers and attain new customers. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced machinist to utilize their skills in a growing small shop environment. The ideal applicant is self‑motivated and willing to perform a variety of duties.

Responsibilities
  • Setup and operate CNC lathes and mills, including 5 axis and dual spindle lathe with live tooling
  • Program and edit parts within Fusion 360
  • Inspect parts to ensure they are within tolerance and meet customer requirements
  • Saw and prep material
  • Read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain clean work areas and machines
  • Deburr parts
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Clean and package parts for shipping
  • Train others and mentor apprentices

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Machine Technology Program or Machinist Apprenticeship
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient understanding of GD&T
  • Understand advanced machining principals
  • Able to troubleshoot complex issues by identifying cause and creating solutions
  • Proficient in basic math skills
  • Able to read and follow work instructions and other pertinent documentation
  • Proficient in basic computer functions
Experience
  • 4 years or 3 years if employee has completed a high school or college level machining program
  • Setup and operation of CNC machine tools
  • Performing tool and work offsets to maintain tolerances

    Reading blueprints and inspecting parts with precision measuring instruments
  • Creating fixtures for setups
  • CAM Programming experience required (Fusion 360 preferred)
  • 5‑axis milling experience (preferred)
  • Swiss lathe experience a plus

Qualifications and experience listed are preferred but applicants with other suitable attributes may be considered.

Wages will be determined based on a candidate's proficiency in the qualifications listed above, as well as their ability to independently execute each job function.
