Associate Manufacturing Supervisor - Swing Shift

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for an Associate Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee a manufacturing line in our Lewiston,  on swing shift. This leader will supervise individual contributors, drive daily operations, and champion World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.

Swing shift schedule:
Monday thru Friday - approx. 2:45pm to 11:15pm.

As an Associate Manufacturing Supervisor, a typical day might include the following:

• Modeling SEL Values and Leadership characteristics to employees.
• Providing clear direction to the work group to help meet department production objectives.
• Understanding upstream and downstream work areas to ensure accurate communication and appropriate product flow.
• Monitoring employee performance, regularly providing employee feedback; empowering, mentoring and coaching employees, writing and delivering performance reviews, and assisting employees in setting goals.
• Assessing employee training needs and providing/overseeing training.
• Actively and effectively addressing personnel issues and settling differences equitably and productively.
• Creating, updating, and ensuring control of area work instructions and reports.
• Utilizing basic root cause and continuous improvement tools to investigate and address area quality issues.
• Promoting safety standards and assisting in implementing safety initiatives.

• Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and department's business systems (Lotus Notes, Dynamics AX, SQS, etc.).
• Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Pay Range: $29.16 - $43.10 per hour.
