Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an inpatient surgical hospitalist team in Lewiston, Maine, providing high-quality nighttime admissions and inpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.

Position Highlights:
  • Full-time or part-time opportunity available
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Provide comprehensive history and physical examinations for new inpatient admissions
  • Manage nighttime admissions workflow and ensure timely clinical evaluations
  • Develop and implement initial care plans in collaboration with attending physicians
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Manage inpatient surgical patients during overnight shifts
  • Coordinate care with hospitalists, surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
  • Support care transitions and assist with discharge planning as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Collaborative hospital environment with strong specialty and physician support
  • Structured onboarding and mentorship program available
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active or eligible Maine state licensure
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

    Ability to manage admissions and acute inpatient care independently and collaboratively
  • Two years prior experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or acute care required
