Job Summary
The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for managing employee health services, including pre-employment screenings, workplace injury assessments, and coordination of employee wellness and immunization programs. This position ensures compliance with OSHA standards, maintains accurate health records, and consults on workers' compensation, infection control, and other employee health concerns. The role supports a healthy work environment and fosters employee well-being and safety.
Essential Functions
* Administers employee physicals, screenings, and immunizations in accordance with policy and OSHA regulations.
* Evaluates, documents, and manages work-related injuries and illnesses.
* Maintains confidential and accurate employee health records.
* Provides guidance and follow-up regarding workers' compensation and return-to-work status.
* Collaborates with HR, Infection Control, and other departments on employee-related health matters.
* Advises on exposure incidents and communicable disease management.
* Participates in audits, surveys, and regulatory compliance efforts.
* Prepares reports and maintains documentation to support employee health activities.
* Responds to emergent employee health needs and coordinates referrals when necessary.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
* Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, CDC guidelines, and occupational health best practices.
* Proficiency in electronic medical recordkeeping and confidentiality practices.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and perform frequent walking, standing, and manual tasks.
* Must be able to respond to alarms, interpret instructions, and communicate effectively in person or via phone
Qualifications
Education
* Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) from an accredited school of nursing (Required) And
* Bachelor's Degree in nursing (Preferred)
Licenses/Certifications
* RN
- Registered Nurse
- State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state of practice Upon Hire (Required) And
* BCLS - Basic Life Support within Facility-Specified time frame Upon Hire
Experience
* Prior Experience in occupational health, infection control, or employee wellness programs (Preferred)
